In this video, we compare the energy that is generated from 35# and 55# yew longbows.
We later discuss Gambeson armor, referencing both historic and academic sources in order to prepare for our second video, where we will be using these two bows, plus a 70-80lb Warbow (not reviewed in this video) with war arrows against gambeson.
We aim to create more data points to gain a better understanding of how gambeson armor protected soldiers on the medieval battlefield.
